About Us

Team UNV and BROTHERHOOD collaborated during International Year of Volunteers 2001 to launch an awareness and sensitization campaign "YOUNG VOLUNTEERS FOR AND AMONG PERSONS WITH DISABILITY" in Delhi schools with its main motto of "PSYCHOLOGICAL ACCEPTANCE COMES BEFORE PHYSICAL ACCEPTANCE". The report of the campaign was presented in Geneva among volunteers from 125 countries and was well appreciated.

OUR WORK

BROTHERHOOD, a socio-cultural organization, has been organizing various orientation, interaction and association programmes to bridge the gap in perception between children with disability and other children in schools since 1994 through the ORIENTATION, INTERACTION AND ASSOCIATION MODEL (OIA MODEL). The OIA model is recognized by the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) during the International Year of Volunteers-2001. The Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), Statutory Body of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment also recognized the OIA model and is planning to take this model to other parts of the country in the near future.
